Welcome to Tripp the Lights the brainchild of Solent University students Lilli King and Chanty Parks. Both keen ravers and dance music enthusiasts, the local and the Londoner have combined their years of experience in the scene, and the promotion and marketing skills from their studies, to create this concise heavily curated guide, which aims to bring together the dance music community of Southampton and will ONLY feature the best events of each dance music genres in the city.

We are committed to passionately providing access to a carefully curated selection of dance music events in the city of Southampton in a convenient and easy to use format.
We endeavor at all times to enlighten our users with our in depth knowledge of the local scene and enrich their experience with our range of culturally relevant articles and useful information.
Our vision:
Hailing back to the day of the rave fanzines of the late 80’s, early 90’s, our vision is to rekindle that sense of passion and create a community spanning the local area and all genres of dance music. By doing so we will help strengthen our night-time industry against the very real threats that are responsible for the closures of great clubs, that are vital to the development of any culture as we attempt to change our local council’s perspective of this truly creative industry.

We aim to combine all aspects of modern culture from fashion to music and present them in a fresh new light by supporting creative individuals by providing them with the platform to best promote their skills and unique, innovative perspectives.

This is our first publication and as we progress the site will be updated with new events weekly and feature articles, interviews and reviews on a monthly basis.
The events page is subcategorized by genre and then listed by date and location. We do not yet sell tickets put have provided the relevant links where possible.
The features, reviews and interviews written by our fantastic volunteer team of contributors provide a bit of context for the artists and venues we help promote and aim to discuss the topics important to our users.
As we develop we will be re-defining the layout of the site and including a membership area with offers and discounts for events and merchandise… so watch this space and please respond to our marketing surveys to help us help you.
